Abstract Selective oxidation reactions are crucial in producing various chemicals the industry. However, most catalytic processes for these use harsh reaction conditions. Recently, heterogeneous photo(electro)catalysis has been considered promising selective under mild Semiconductor materials frequently used as photocatalysts because they can produce active species that contribute to of organic compounds light irradiation. Among semiconductor photocatalysts, tungsten oxide (WO 3 ) is one candidates due its advantages, including high stability, wide adsorption range, proper band structures, and unique mechanism. This paper reviews WO ‐based photocatalytic (PC) photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) oxidations. We summarize strategies designing which include morphology control, crystal facet optimization, defect engineering. Then, finely designed structures PC PEC several typical have discussed based on mechanism performance. Finally, we propose prospects challenges photoanodes reactions.

Oxygen-containing organics, which are generated from the selective oxidation of their corresponding hydrocarbons, have high value in chemical and pharmaceutical industries. However, reactions very challenging as products more active than substrates, especially for cyclohexane (CHA). Herein, we focused on one-step preparation Bi2WO6 with double sites tunable metallic Bi oxygen vacancies (OV-Bi/Bi2WO6) by a facile solvothermal treatment. Then, OV-Bi/Bi2WO6 was used an efficient photocatalyst partial CHA to cyclohexanone (CHA-one) first time air oxidant under solvent-free room temperature conditions. The : ratio as-prepared heterojunction could be tailored 0.08 8.43 controlling temperature, synergistic effect between DMF EG increase reduction MDF/EG promote production Bi. Moreover, OV-Bi/Bi2WO6-160 yielded 4.4 8.8 times CHA-one (128.8 μmol) pure Bi, respectively, achieved 93.6% selectivity results revealed that highly enhanced photocatalytic activity mainly attributed superior specific surface area, outstanding photo-absorption, abundant vacancies, electron-hole separation. unique OV-Bi/Bi2WO6, can enhance adsorption activation capacity O2, while improve CHA.
