The composition design of high-entropy nitride coatings is great significance for improving the service life titanium alloys. This work predicted formation possibility (HfTaNbCrV)N (HEN) by theoretical approach integrating negative mixing enthalpy and lattice constants difference. Subsequently, HEN were deposited on surface TC21 alloy using a double glow plasma alloying (DGPA) technology, while TaN prepared comparison. XRD TEM results indicated that exhibited single-phase fcc structure. reveal high adhesion (~87.3 N), good hardness (~42.99±2.14 GPa), low wear rate (~9.41 × 10⁻⁶ mm³N⁻¹m⁻¹) coating at 9N.
