Cadmium (Cd) is the main environmental pollutant causing endocrine and nervous system dysfunction in animals. High doses of Cd cause cytotoxicity, including programmed necrosis apoptosis, which has aroused widespread concern. Mitochondrial dynamics plays a key role apoptosis organs. Nevertheless, there lack information on relationship between Cd-induced necrosis/apoptosis hypothalamus mitochondrial fusion-fission balance. Therefore, hypothalamic injury model exposure was established by adding 20 mg/kg CdCl2 to basic pig diet for 40 days. Analysis toxicity mechanism conducted inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, hematoxylin eosin staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling assay, quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, as well western blot analyses. The results suggested that inhibited expression PI3K AKT, interfered with balance fusion division, downregulated Mfn2, Mfn1, OPA1, upregulated Drp1 Mff, led cell hypothalamus. This study finds cadmium leads fission porcine via PI3K/AKT pathway.
