Chromosome-level genome and annotation of the tetraploid Rhodiola kirilowii

Rhodiola kirilowii, a perennial medical herb native to China, is highly valued for its detoxification and anti-swelling properties, as well role an adaptogen, making it intriguing subject understanding medicinal potential molecular biochemistry. In this study, we generated high-quality chromosome-level reference genome of R. kirilowii achieved through combination Illumina short-read sequencing, PacBio long-read Hi-C sequencing techniques. The final assembly spans 1.92 Gb, including 40 homoeologous chromosomes one sex chromosome, with scaffold NG50 46.03 Mb, BUSCO completeness 98.9%. Additionally, annotated total 1.23 Gb repetitive sequences, encompassing 63.88% the entire genome, identified 122,035 protein-coding genes. Each sub-genome similar continuity. This provides critical insights into genetic underpinnings kirilowii's pharmacological facilitating comparative genomics enhancement applications.
