Objective: Several studies have investigated the negative toll pandemic has had on people's mental health. However, there is limited research pandemic's effect positive health variables. The COVID-19 pandemic primarily impacted long-term care facilities by restricting visiting and circulation of visitors, affecting the quality life (QoL) older adults living in these institutions. We aimed compare HRQOL during the first wave in 2020 before identify determinants Switzerland.We conducted a cross-sectional online survey (between May July 2020; CoWELL sample; convenience sample). Adjusted for sex, age, education, reported higher (PCS, +5.8 (95% CI: 5.1, 6.6), p < 0.001) lower (MCS, -6.9 (-7.8, -6.0), than sample. especially persons with health literacy, who no support network or COVID-19, HRQOL.Aspects unique HRQOL. This study examined the correlates of loneliness and social isolation among older adults in United States (U.S.) during COVID-19 outbreak. We analyzed data from 2020 National Health Aging Trends Study, a nationally representative sample 3257 U.S. aged 65 years older. identified sociodemographic, health, support, community loneliness, higher versus before outbreak, using weighted multiple logistic regression models. Abstract Background The COVID-19 outbreak might have had several effects on older adults; however, much of the previous research only included self-report, cross-sectional, and online-survey data in early stage pandemic. We conducted a face-to-face survey before after pandemic investigated influence functions to distinguish between changes due aging using linear mixed model. Methods A total 8 longitudinal surveys were from 2016 2022. Physical function was assessed by weight, body mass index, fat percentage, skeletal muscle calf circumference, grip strength, knee extension 5-times chair stand test, timed up & go test 5-m walking test. Functional capacity measured Tokyo Metropolitan Institute Gerontology index competence, cognitive Trail Making Test - A, mental health Geriatric Depression Scale. Results Of 73 participants, 51 (69.9%) female. mean age at first participation 71.82 years (SD = 4.64). results model showed that lower-limb strength percentage changed significantly pandemic, while functional capacity, did not.
