Transcranial Photobiomodulation (tPBM) offers significant potential for cognitive enhancement and therapy. A critical gap remains in our understanding of the differential impacts pulsed versus continuous tPBM on human electroencephalogram (EEG) patterns. Treatment planners do not have objective metrics to ascertain optimal dosage parameters which hampers development effective closed-loop neuromodulation systems. This study focuses key EEG markers: interhemispheric coherence frequency entrainment. Concurrent recordings were conducted healthy participants single sessions with continuous, modular protocols. Putative indicators protocols are hypothesized be post-intervention increases relative alpha power normalization. The quantifies changes from baseline demonstrate dosimetry effects. We anticipate that will elucidate distinct effects protocols, an expected normalization

This manuscript outlines a model of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) pathophysiology in progressive layers, from its genesis to the development biomarkers and then symptom expression. Genetic predispositions are major factor that leads mitochondrial dysfunction subsequent amyloid tau protein accumulation, which have been identified as hallmarks AD. Extending beyond these accumulations, we explore broader spectrum pathophysiological aspects, including blood–brain barrier, blood flow, vascular health, gut-brain microbiodata, glymphatic metabolic syndrome, energy deficit, oxidative stress, calcium overload, inflammation, neuronal synaptic loss, brain matter atrophy, reduced growth factors. Background: Recent evidence has identified great promise for the novel whole-body photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) individuals with fibromyalgia (FM). However, currently no documented experiences of participants. The objective this study was to qualitatively assess treatment experience and response in a group participants FM undergoing course PBMT. Methods: An interpretive hermeneutic phenomenological situated within worldview pragmatism undertaken. A convenience sample were included if they had undertaken 6-week trial Individuals undertook semi-structured interviews exploring multidimensional responses during Week 3 6. Results: Sixteen (47.3 ± 10.9 years) took part study. analysis produced three overarching themes that previously from baseline (namely, ‘Body Structure & Function’, ‘Activities Participation’, ‘Environment’) an additional five sub-themes highlighted intervention experience. Subsequently, four important processes observed identified: increased motivation; feeling proud; improved confidence; like ‘old self’. This ultimately culminated identification positive spiral, which we have termed ‘recomposition’. Conclusions: We believe our is first field chronic pain management utilise qualitative methodology directly acceptability efficacy specific medical clinical trial, PBMT findings are compelling warrant further work support introduction device into National Health Service (NHS).

Introduction Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) is a non-invasive neuromodulation technology which has become promising therapy for treating many brain diseases. Although it been confirmed in studies targeting neurological diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s that tPBM can improve cognitive function, the effectiveness of interventions TBI patients remains to be determined. This systematic review examines outcomes clinical trials concerning treatment traumatic injury (TBI). Methods We conducted literature review, following PRISMA guidelines. The PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, EMBASE, Cochrane Library databases were searched before October 31, 2023. Results initial search retrieved 131 articles, total 6 finally included full text-analysis after applying inclusion exclusion criteria. Conclusion showed improvements cognition with chronic intervention. mechanism may increases volume cortical gray matter (GM), subcortical GM, thalamic, improves cerebral blood flow (CBF), functional connectivity (FC), oxygenation, improving function. However, due significant heterogeneity application, we cannot summarize optimal parameters TBI. In addition, there currently lack RCT this field. Therefore, given encouraging but uncertain finding, necessary conduct randomized controlled further determine role rehabilitation patients.

Background: Alzheimer’s disease has become increasingly prevalent among the older population, leading to significant social and economic burdens. Transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) shown promise as a cognitive intervention for enhancing efficiency in healthy adults, individuals with mild impairment disease. However, determining optimal tPBM dosage is crucial ensuring effective efficient intervention. Objective: This study aimed compare effects of different dosages single session on adults. Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, 88 participants were assigned either dose (irradiance = 30 mW/cm 2 , fluence 10.8 J/cm ; n 44) or double 21.6 session. Cognitive was assessed using functional near-infrared spectroscopy during visual working memory span task. Results: The group exhibited significantly greater enhancement, indicated by more pronounced reduction oxygenated hemoglobin challenging task level (span 9) ( p 0.021, d 0.50), better performance 0.045, 0.31). Furthermore, visuospatial abilities demonstrated improvement after r –0.42, 0.004). contrast, varying function did not exhibit additional benefits from –0.22–0.15, 0.16–0.95). Conclusions: These findings suggest that higher may necessarily result superior
