Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are currently the leading cause of death worldwide. In 2022, CVDs contributed to 19.8 million deaths globally, accounting for one-third all global deaths. With an aging population and changing lifestyles, pose a major threat human health. Infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are characterized by spontaneous regression, and their pathogenesis involves immune cell infiltration programmed death. Pyroptosis, an inflammatory regulated cell death (RCD) mechanism, is characterized by cellular swelling, membrane rupture, and subsequent discharge of contents, exerting robust proinflammatory effects. Recent studies have significantly advanced our understanding pyroptosis, revealing that it can be triggered through inflammasome- caspase-independent pathways, interacts intricately with other RCD pathways (e.g., necroptosis, ferroptosis, cuproptosis). The pathogenesis pulmonary fibrosis (PF), including idiopathic (IPF) interstitial lung diseases, involves a multifaceted interplay factors such as pathogen infections, environmental pollutants, genetic variations, immune dysfunction. This chronic progressive disease persistent inflammation, extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation, fibrotic alveolar wall thickening, which potentially contribute to deteriorated function. Despite recent advances in the mechanisms regulates PF are not entirely elucidated, effective strategies improve clinical outcomes remain unclear. review strives deliver comprehensive overview biological functions molecular exploring its roles PF.
