erosion
via
segregation
maintenance
proteins,
resulting
Long
Interspersed
Nuclear
Element-1
(LINE1)
de-repression
parturition.
Increased
LINE1
retrotransposition
further
activates
type
I
interferon
response
cGAS-STING
pathway,
thereby
leading
fibroblast
senescence
with
consequent
increased
secretion
components
associated
senescence-associated
phenotype.
Mouse
studies
show
intra-amniotic
injection
vector
specifically
expressing
nucleus
induces
preterm
birth
along
and
cellular
which
blocked
by
inhibition
reverse-transcription.
Together,
these
findings
highlight

Berries and Their Active Compounds in Prevention of Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Age-related
macular
degeneration
(AMD)
is
a
leading
cause
of
vision
loss
in
the
elderly,
significantly
diminishing
quality
life.
Currently,
there
no
available
treatment
to
reverse
retinal
and
neuronal
loss,
prompting
focus
on
interventions
that
slow
progression
intermediate
AMD
geographic
atrophy.
Berries
are
rich
bioactive
compounds,
including
flavonoids,
anthocyanins,
carotenoids,
resveratrol,
known
for
their
antioxidant,
anti-inflammatory,
anti-angiogenic
properties.
Preclinical
studies
suggest
extracts
from
various
berries,
such
as
aronia,
honeysuckle,
black
currant,
goji,
bilberry,
can
improve
health
by
reducing
oxidative
stress
inflammation.
Although
clinical
trials
limited,
emerging
evidence
indicates
dietary
intake
these
compounds
may
enhance
visual
function
AMD.
This
review
summarizes
findings
both
animal
identify
specific
berries
have
been
validated
prevent
or
delay
progression,
well
those
with
potential
therapeutic
value.
Furthermore,
we
examine
key
phytochemicals
present
mechanisms
action
degeneration,
distinct
properties
application.
A
deeper
understanding
characteristics
could
enable
rational
appliance
especially
wolfberry,
berry-derived
components,
carotenoids
optimize
better
outcomes
management.
