Abstract
Metabolic
diseases,
including
obesity,
diabetes,
and
metabolic‐associated
fatty
liver
disease
(MAFLD),
are
increasingly
common
worldwide,
posing
a
significant
public
health
challenge.
Recent
research
has
revealed
complex
interplay
between
these
metabolic
disorders
interferon
(IFN)
immune
responses.
As
key
regulators,
interferons
coordinate
the
host's
defense
against
viral
infections
essential
for
maintaining
homeostasis.
However,
dysregulation
can
significantly
disrupt
IFN
signaling
pathways,
affecting
intensity

Nonlinear Relationship Between Monocyte‐to‐Lymphocyte Ratio and Bone Mineral Density in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Mediating Role of Fat Distribution

ABSTRACT
Objective
The
objective
of
study
is
to
clarify
the
relationship
between
monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte
ratio
(MLR)
and
lumbar
spine
bone
mineral
density
(BMD)
in
type
2
diabetes
mellitus
(T2DM),
analyse
mediating
role
fat
distribution,
providing
a
new
indicator
for
early
diagnosis
osteoporosis
T2DM.
Methods
A
total
430
T2DM
patients
over
50
years
were
included.
Subjects
divided
into
T1,
T2
T3
three
groups
based
on
MLR.
adjusted
regression
models,
subgroup
analysis,
generalised
additive
model
(GAM),
smoothed
curve
fitting,
mediated
effects
analysis
methods
used.
Results
results
indicated
significant
negative
correlation
MLR
BMD
(
β
=
−0.701;
95%CI:
−0.112,
−0.290).
Subgroup
fitting
threshold
effect
showed
nonlinear
BMD,
with
an
optimal
inflection
point
at
value
0.1266.
Additionally,
visceral
subcutaneous
area
(VSR)
was
negatively
correlated
