Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are complex and influenced by numerous internal external risk factors that should be considered to effectively mitigate injury facilitate informed return sport decision-making. Among these factors, movement quality exhibited during sport-specific tasks has been identified as a significant predictor of occurrence. Particularly, change direction (COD) movements, when performed with sub-optimal quality, such knee valgus lateral trunk flexion, prominent mechanisms ACL in multidirectional sports. Unfortunately, the formal objective assessment COD is underutilized clinical sports practice, existing methods often confined expensive, sophisticated laboratory settings impractical for everyday clinicians. The purpose this commentary demonstrate necessity integrating assessments screen potential risk, particularly among higher-risk populations. authors will review cost-effective clinic-friendly tests used qualitatively Cutting Movement Assessment Score Expanded Alignment Tool. Additionally, discuss key considerations assessing movement. Level Evidence 5
