A leaf spring caliper is a device used to detect the geometry and defects of inner wall oil gas pipelines. The detection principle involves installing strain gauges on detecting arm, which can be bent elastically. gauge signal connected voltage-detecting equipment pipeline through voltage signal. This has advantages high accuracy small structure size. However, arm works via contact detection, will worn out when working, thus reducing accuracy. paper establishes wear model constructs test system based model. simulates between material 51CrV4 (ISO 683-2-2016) L555Q 3183:2012). By changing coating such as nickel-phosphorus coating, epoxy acrylic resin or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) pattern explored experimental results are analyzed summarized select most suitable material. polynomial fit data, followed by Reye–Archard fit, was performed finally derive function for springs with different materials. prediction algorithm predict detector extended length calibrated. show that average error predicted data actual observed in accordance expectations. Therefore, its corresponding applied correction improve calipers.
