The recently introduced concept of 'exposome' emphasizes the impact non-traditional threats onto cardiovascular health. Among these, air pollutants – particularly fine particulate matter < 2.5 μm (PM2.5) have emerged as significant environmental risk factors for disease and mortality. PM2.5 exposure has been shown to induce endothelial dysfunction, chronic low-grade inflammation, cardiometabolic impairment, contributing development destabilization atherosclerotic plaques. Both short- long-term pollution considerably increase incidence ischemic heart (IHD)-related events, with clinical evidence linking higher mortality adverse prognosis, especially in vulnerable populations. In this review, we explore mechanistic pathways through which exacerbate (ASCVD) discuss their impact.

Research has shown that exposure to joint air pollution is related atherosclerosis, but little evidence been found for carotid plaques. Our objective assess the association between pollutants and plaque explore mediating role of cardiometabolic factors in this relationship. The Beijing Health Management Cohort (BMHC) study followed participants recruited from 2013 2014 until December 31, 2020. All underwent ultrasound were free at baseline. A satellite-based land-use regression (LUR) model was applied estimate exposure. assessed by incorporating a weighted score. modified Poisson conducted investigate relationship occurrence. Mediation analysis explored how mediate relationships risk. During an average follow-up period 4 years, 1240 cases identified among 7358 participants. Each interquartile range (IQR) increase associated with following relative risk (RR) 95 % confidence intervals (95 CIs) plaque: 2.5-micrometer particulate matter (PM2.5), 1,04 (1.01, 1.07), 10-micrometer (PM10), 1.10 1.20), sulfur dioxide (SO2), 1.28 (1.15, 1.42), ozone (O3), 1.18 1.37), carbon monoxide (CO), 1.32 1.50). Climate change is the most important challenge of this century. Global surface temperature continuously rising to new record highs, adversely affecting health planet and humans. The purpose article review impact climate related environmental exposures on human health, healthcare delivery, medical imaging explore potential leverage as a non-invasive tool advance our understanding effects. Radiology departments systems must focus building resilience effects while ensuring that delivery care environmentally sustainable. Further research needed refine forecast expected changes in demand for radiology services.

Despite accumulating evidence of an association between air pollution and renal disease, studies on the long-term exposure to function are still contradictory. This study aimed investigate this in a large population with relatively low improved estimation as well injury biomarkers.
