Abstract Background The concept of the metaverse is a virtual world that immerses users, allowing them to interact with digital environment. Due metaverse's utility in collaborative and immersive simulation, it can be advantageous for medical education high‐stakes care settings such as emergency, critical, acute care. Consequently, there has been growth educational use, which yet characterized alongside other simulation modalities literature. This scoping review aims provide comprehensive overview all research describing use Methods We used Arksey O'Malley's framework Levac et al. modifications conduct by searching these five databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, ERIC, Web Science, Education Source). comprises six steps: (1) identifying question; (2) relevant literature; (3) study selection; (4) data extraction; (5) collating, summarizing, reporting data; (6) consultation key informants. Relevant themes trends were extracted mapped reporting. Results search yielded 8175 citations, ultimately led extraction from 65 articles. Studies evaluated programs learning assessment both technical skills (management code blue, sepsis, stroke, etc.) nontechnical (e.g., interprofessional collaboration, communication, critical decision making). Barriers implementation include challenges difficulty evaluating effectiveness. Conclusions results this highlight current applications an tool, its identified strengths weaknesses, further comparison between high‐fidelity simulation. work provides direction future primary secondary aid programmers curriculum planners maximizing potential education.

In the era of Web Things, Metaverse is expected to be landing site for next generation Internet, resulting in increased popularity related technologies and applications recent years gradually becoming focus Internet research. The Metaverse, as a link between real virtual worlds, can provide users with immersive experiences. As concept grows popularity, many scholars developers begin on Metaverse's ethics core. This paper argues that should centered humans. That is, humans constitute majority Metaverse. result, we this by introducing origins, characteristics, technologies, human-centric (HCM). Second, discuss manifestation Finally, some current issues construction HCM. paper, detailed review well relevant HCM application scenarios. We hope researchers directions ideas construction.

The Metaverse is an online universe that combines virtual reality and augmented reality, linked together via a network. It has generated novel experiences are fully engaging transpire in real time, facilitating interpersonal communication dialogue. Virtual environments with 3D space avatars can boost patient-facing platforms, operational utilisation, digital education, diagnostics, treatment choices medicine ophthalmology. Globally, there increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, estimated 25 percent individuals presently contending multiple health issues. management diseases currently being rethought light the development technology known as "Smart Healthcare." A prime example state-of-the-art wearable incentivizes people to embrace healthier lifestyles through monitoring physiological indicators metabolic processes. With better data organisation analysis, disease patients may benefit from improved health, privacy, quality life. Through examination acquired devices on patient, Artificial Intelligence (AI) capability generate informed recommendations pertaining diagnosis illness. These be provided by AI. adoption blockchain (BC) potential significantly advance healthcare variety ways, including decentralised sharing, user empowerment, dependability administration. impact Wearable Technologies (WT), (AI), Blockchain Technology Chronic Disease Management (CDM) could transition emphasis hospital patient. This article provides patient-centered technical framework for controlling using artificial intelligence, blockchain, technologies. Our proposed architecture depends environment. In order participate Metaverse, both physicians need sign up network. After entering, customers will accompanied throughout experience. comprehensive record all information gathered during doctor-patient consultations, text, videos, images, audio, clinical data, compiled, uploaded stored perpetuity. Explainable (XAI) algorithms examine these particulars diagnose forecast progression diseases. We conclude discussion constraints this paradigm future research.

The integration of technological advances into health sciences has promoted their development, but also generated setbacks and difficulties for digital transformation. In different areas, technology modified the processes diagnosis, teaching learning, treatment monitoring, which is why study new technologies models that support introduction essential. Internet Things one these models, which, in turn, includes devices applications. Due to its breadth exploitation options benefits, area this concept been adopted particularized as Medical Things. With purpose achieving an approximation main trends characteristics, a literature review was conducted, based on mixed methods. Two studies were carried out with sequential strategy, first being bibliometric second scoping review. results allowed us describe terms indicators, thematic analysis populations, benefits limitations. It concluded there need interdisciplinary lines future research are presented.

Background Traditional medical education often lacks contextual experience, hindering students' ability to effectively apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. The integration of the metaverse into holds great enormous promise for addressing educational disparities, particularly lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) accompanied by rapid technological advancements. This commentary paper aimed address potential enhancing basic sciences within constraints faced universities LMICs. We also addressed learning design challenges proposing fundamental elements and a suggested conceptual framework developing metaverse-based teaching methods. The goal is assist educators practitioners comprehensivley understanding key factors immersive learning.
