Many researchers propose manipulating microbiota to prevent and treat related diseases. The brain-gut axis is an object that remains the target of modern research, it not without reason many enrich with diet in its name. Disorders this homeostasis dysbiosis itself accompany neurodegenerative diseases such Alzheimer's Parkinson's. Heavily dependent on external factors, modulation gut microbiome represents opportunity advance treatment Probiotic interventions, synbiotic or fecal transplantation can undoubtedly support biotherapeutic process. Type 2 diabetes is a disease with significant health consequences for the individual. Currently, new mechanisms and therapeutic approaches that may affect this are being sought. One of them association type microbiota. Through enteric nervous system gut–microbiota axis, microbiota affects functioning body. It has been proven to have real impact on influencing glucose lipid metabolism insulin sensitivity. With dysbiosis, there increased bacterial translocation through disrupted intestinal barrier inflammation in In diabetes, microbiota’s composition altered with, example, more abundant class Betaproteobacteria. The these disorders linked involving short-chain fatty acids, branched-chain amino lipopolysaccharide, among others. Interventions focusing gut gaining traction as promising approach management. This narrative review synthesizes current evidence regarding anti-inflammatory dietary patterns and their potential benefits for individuals with mental disorders neurodegenerative diseases. Chronic low-grade inflammation is increasingly recognized as a key factor in the etiology progression of these conditions. The examines neuroprotective properties components food groups, focusing on whole foods rather than specific nutrients or supplements. Key showing include fruits vegetables (especially berries leafy greens), grains, legumes, fatty fish rich omega-3, nuts (particularly walnuts), olive oil, fermented foods. These are generally antioxidants, fiber, bioactive compounds that may help modulate inflammation, support gut health, promote neuroprotection. Conversely, ultra-processed foods, red meat, sugary beverages be harmful. Based this evidence, we designed Brain Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition (BrAIN) diet. mechanisms diet modulation microbiota gut-brain axis, regulation inflammatory pathways, reduction oxidative stress, promotion neuroplasticity. BrAIN shows promise an aid to manage disorders.

International studies have linked the consumption of ultra-processed foods with a variety non-communicable diseases. Background: Depression often coexists with anemia, potentially sharing common pathways, highlighting the need for treatments addressing both conditions simultaneously. This study evaluated effect of probiotics on red blood cell (RBC) parameters in adults depressive disorder. We hypothesized that would positively influence RBC parameters, modulated by baseline inflammation or dietary intake, improved function correlating better antidepressant outcomes. Methods: secondary analysis a two-arm, randomized, double-blind, controlled trial involved 116 Participants received probiotic formulation containing Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell®-52 and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell®-175 placebo 60 days. Data from 97 subjects were analyzed including hemoglobin (HGB), count, hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), concentration (MCH), (MCHC), distribution width (RDW). Results: Probiotic supplementation did not result significant changes compared to placebo. However, may help stabilize HGB, HCT, MCH, MCHC levels, preventing fluctuations observed group. Conclusions: While showed potential benefits symptoms, observed. Larger studies are needed clarify mechanisms clinical implications.

Background/Objectives: Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a disorder of the gut-brain axis for which gastroenterologist most often consulted. Gastrointestinal symptoms and decreased quality life lead to considerable burden disease. The exact causes IBS are not well understood, no standard therapy has been established. primary outcome study focused on improvements assessed through validated questionnaire IBS-Severity Scoring System (IBS-SSS). Similarly, secondary outcomes geared towards improvement (IBS-Quality Life (IBS-QoL) Quality Index (GIQLI)) specific (bloating, abdominal distension, feeling heaviness, pain, flatulence), were self-administered questionnaires. Intestinal habits (consistency frequency depositions) subject stratification into diarrhoea (IBS-D), constipation (IBS-C), mixed type (IBS-M), as treatment tolerability also evaluated. Methods: A randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind, clinical trial was conducted 156 enrolled patients (79 female 77 male), aged 18–70 years, randomised (1:1 allocation ratio) receive either two capsules per day food supplement (containing 480 mg complex tannin extracts) or placebo 56 days. Linear random intercept models (LMM) used analyse all experimental variables Results: Supplementation resulted in significant (p < 0.05) IBSS score, with respect group, changing condition going from mild (242.3 ± 89.8) moderate (148.1 60.6). indicators concerning life, intestinal 0.05). Furthermore, tannin-based showed ability modulate response different symptomatology such constipation, without side effects being reported. Conclusions: use based chestnut quebracho tannins presents great application potential management IBS-related disorders, peculiarity resolving opposite symptoms, indiscriminately.

Background: The relationship between gut microbiota and metabolic health has garnered significant attention in recent years. In this study, we aim to explore the intricate link outcomes, with a focus on lifestyle factors such as smoking, diet, living environment. Materials Methods: We investigated profiles of adult patients type 2 diabetes, all receiving metformin therapy, assess how impact health. Key parameters body composition indices were measured, alongside composition. Results: Our cohort included 30 patients, identified associations smoking adverse changes, well dietary patterns favoring plant-based foods correlating improved outcomes. Urban participants displayed distinct markers compared their rural counterparts, highlighting potential influence environmental factors. Conclusions: current data does not directly demonstrate causal usage specific changes These findings align existing literature while providing novel insights into population dynamics.
