Diaphania indica (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is one of the most important pests infesting many cucurbitaceous vegetables. During rearing insect eggs, we observed a fungal infection in these eggs which causes death pests. Therefore, this work aimed to isolate and identify fungus by amplifying internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region rDNA, as well evaluating efficiency control. Aspergillus flavus, ‘PP125556’, showcased robust pathogenicity against range D. The results showed that colonies ‘PP125556’ cultivated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) exhibited distinctive morphological characteristics, transitioning from pristine white verdant green. Bioassays demonstrated concentration-dependent mortality rates larvae adults when exposed varying concentrations conidia, with highest concentration (1 × 109 conidia/mL) inducing significant death, (53.06% for 70.57% larvae, 86.65% adults). Furthermore, examination under stereomicroscope revealed conspicuous external symptoms infected including reduced mobility, darkened body pigmentation, emergence hyphae, indicative mortality. Additionally, inhibited hatching green while displayed hyphae colonization, underscoring potent biocontrol efficacy A. flavus across diverse developmental stages.

Pesticide use in crops is a severe problem some countries. Each country has its legislation for use, but they differ the degree of tolerance these broadly toxic products. Several synthetic pesticides can cause air, soil, and water pollution, contaminating human food chain other living beings. In addition, them accumulate environment an indeterminate amount time. The agriculture sector must guarantee healthy with sustainable production using environmentally friendly methods. this context, biological biopesticides from microbes plants are growing green solution segment. pests attack worldwide, including weeds, insects, nematodes, microorganisms such as fungi, bacteria, viruses, causing diseases economic losses. bioproducts microorganisms, microbial (MBPs) or alone, practice due to intense research world. Mainly, baculoviruses have been used sources biomolecules secondary metabolites biopesticide use. Different methods, direct soil application, spraying techniques endotherapy, seed treatment, used. Adjuvants like surfactants, protective agents, carriers improve system different formulations. tool bioremediation environment. This review summarizes topics, focusing on origin.

Entomopathogenic fungi, a group of insect pathogens, are characterized by high insecticidal efficacy and minimal environmental impact. They commonly used as biopesticides for pest control due to their significant practical value. We here classify entomopathogenic fungi according the process fungal infection in hosts, changes host behavior during infection, mechanisms spore transmission, review strategies employed insects resist including physical barrier defenses, immune system behavioral avoidance pathogens. This also discusses pathogenic on closely linked co-evolution between pathogens defenses. In conclusion, perspective future research is provided, emphasizing impact population density concentration environment disease outbreaks.

Actinomycetes are known to produce wide-spectrum of secondary metabolites which has a wide variety biological activities including insecticidal property. Spodoptera litura is serious pest that damage various commercial cash crops directly affects the agricultural productivity. The present study isolate soil actinomycetes from terrestrial samples collected eastern ghats and screened them with screening methods. There were around 100 obtained using serial dilution method. It was subjected antimicrobial streak method (data not shown) identified active isolates. most seven isolates their extracted ethyl acetate as solvent. All ethlyacetae extracts performed ovicidal, larvicidal pupicidal bioassays against insect litura. Based on calculated LC50 values, effective crude extract found be Streptomyces Sp. ERI-TVM-055, extract. exhibited % ovicidal activity at lowest values 2.3330 ppm 25.423 LC50. also, 6.273 ppm. Similarly, sp. ERI-TVM-057, S. eggs 11.025 Over all tested isolate, significant ERI-TVM-055. GC-MS analysis major bio-active molecules identified. Several compounds in by spectrum. Benzene acetic acid (30.19 %) Acetamide, N-(2- Phenylethyl) (68.37 for actinomycetes. concluded ERI-TVM-055 can used microbial pesticides one it leads identify safe environments.

Modern agriculture faces significant overreliance on chemical pesticides, leading to environmental pollution and pest resistance. As a promising alternative, entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) offer biological approach control. This study investigates the hypovirulence virulence effects of EPF corn cucumber plants by measuring their Disease Severity Index (DSI). The treatment involves isolating applying seeds observe pathogenic impact. DSI, which measures disease intensity, is used determine whether are virulent (DSI ≥ 2) or hypovirulent < 2). exposing seedlings fungal isolates monitoring symptoms, such as brown hypocotyls, withered leaves, seed death. Isolates like J5S1U2, J3S1U2, J2S2U1, J2SU4 were found be towards cucumber, causing abnormal germination severe stress. In contrast, isolates, J4S2U2, J3S2U1, T5U1O, caused mild including light patches under 0.5 cm hypocotyls without wilting, making them safer for agricultural use. emphasizes selecting based crop-specific virulence, aiming optimize control strategies. Hypovirulent in particular, identified suitable candidates integrated management, they minimize plant stress while offering effective
