Biochar has emerged as a promising soil amendment to improve structure. Yet, its impact on rainfall-induced erosion varies across individual studies. To address this gap, we conducted statistical meta-analysis of 174 paired comparisons from 45 published studies integratedly evaluate the impacts biochar through and properties, well experimental conditions. Overall, significantly reduced by 27.86%. The response ratio (lnRR) biochar-induced exhibited significant variability different subgroups. Concerning more favorable influence was observed in others (e.g., manure sewage sludge biochar) compared wood based crop waste biochar, those produced at lower pyrolysis temperatures (< 500°C). Increasing dosage is not consistently effective. optimal range 0.8-2%, resulting 36.07% reduction erosion. Regarding higher sand/clay enhanced performance (p < 0.0001). Specifically, an insignificant effect fine-grained soils, whereas highest 52.97% noted coarse-grained soils. Moreover, long-term field experiments induced greater reductions with (35.30%) short-term laboratory (29.62% 12.59%). This demonstrates that potential amendment, could effectively mitigate considering combination properties along specific properties.

ABSTRACT Slopes in nature usually present layered characteristics, and its stability is susceptible to rainfall events. Considering that current analytical solutions are only suited simulate the infiltration of double‐layered infinite unsaturated slopes, an procedure hence proposed this study tackle consideration multiple layers.
