Abstract The present review attempts to critically examine and evaluate research findings on mushrooms as sources of vitamin D other nutraceuticals. Recently, there is a growing concern about diseases associated with the deficiency in humans. As people tend stay indoors, times, due COVID‐19 pandemic, levels are further affected. Research indicates promising defensive or therapeutic agent against COVID, making this more crucial. Mushrooms, rich source along various bioactive compounds, perform significant role resolving health issues. Robust analyses strategies for enhancing content holds significance study; moreover, will help stakeholders mushroom industry enriching overall quality human health. Mushroom‐based medicinal formulations functional foods serve deliver vitamins nutrients humans, thus helping combat malnutrition problems, especially developing countries. Evidence from pre‐clinical clinical suggests that 2 bioavailability comparable sources. also emphasises molecular related genes responsible morphology metabolic production pro‐vitamin‐D .

Global food production faces many challenges, including climate change, a water crisis, land degradation, and desertification. These challenges require research into non-traditional sources of human foods. Edible mushrooms are considered an important next-generation healthy source. rich in proteins, dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, other bioactive components (alkaloids, lactones, polysaccharides, polyphenolic compounds, sesquiterpenes, sterols, terpenoids). Several ingredients can be extracted from edible incorporated health-promoting supplements. It has been suggested that several diseases treated with extracts mushrooms, as these have biological effects anticancer, antidiabetic, antiviral, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, immune-potentiating, hypo-cholesterolemic influences. The current study focuses on sustainable approaches for handling their secondary metabolites, biofortification. Comparisons between poisonous well the common species different ingredients, crucial. Nutritional values health benefits biomedical applications, also emphasized. Further is needed to explore economic sustainability medicinal mushroom compound potential applications against emerging such COVID-19. New nano-biofortification supply essential nutrients and/or increase ingredients.

Abstract L. edodes ( ) is the most consumed mushroom in world and has been well known for its therapeutic potential as an edible medicinal candidate, it contains dietary fibers, vitamins, proteins, minerals, carbohydrates. In current study butanolic extract of was used to form semisolid butanol extract. The aimed explore biometabolites that might have biological activities n -butanol using FT-IR GC–MS LC–MS. synergistic properties bioactive compounds were futher assessed by performing different assays such antioxidant, anti-inflammatory antidiabetic. FTIR spectra showed functional groups including amide N–H group, Alkane (C-H stretching), (C = C stretching) at spectrum peaks range 500 cm −1 5000 respectively. profiling depicted 34 potent biomolecules among those dimethyl; Morphine, 2TMS derivative; Benzoic acid, methyl ester 1-(2-methoxy-1-methylethoxy)-2-propanol spotted highest range. Results indicate n- a maximum 91.4% 300 mg/mL. Antioxidant activity observed measuring free radical scavenging which 64.6% optimized concentration along with good antidiabetic activity.
