Rapid industrialization has provided comforts to mankind but also impacted the environment harmfully. There been severe increase in pollution due several industries, particular dye industry, which generate huge quantities of wastewater containing hazardous chemicals. Although tremendous developments have taken place for treatment and management such through chemical or biological processes, there is an emerging shift approach, with focus shifting on resource recovery from their sustainable manner. Biosurfactants are economically most sought after biotechnological compounds of the 21st century. However, inefficient bioprocessing has mitigated economical commercial production these compounds. Although much work is being done on use low‐cost substrates for their production, a paucity literature exists upcoming bioprocess optimization strategies and successes potential biosurfactant production. This review discusses some latest developments promising to enhance economize process. In recent times, the chemical biosurfactants have gained much attention because they considered as a suitable eco-friendly materials remediation technology.
