Balancing the needs of current and future generations stimulates investment for sustainable development such as converting waste biomass into biorenewables. Sugar-based ethanol production is a well-investigated established process, researchers are now focusing on transformation cellulosic to sugar application non-conventional methods production. The State Qatar generates date palm fruit approximately 4505 tons annually, excluding ornamental palms outside farms that bear nonmarketable fruits. Date molasses contains fermentable sugars, representing 75% total mass, which can offer good source bioethanol through anaerobic fermentation distillation. On this basis, valorization fruits be an effective zero-waste strategy via biotransformation bio-renewable materials, hence, contributing achievement goals. This paper reviews potentials challenges utilization assesses abundance raw material conventional conversion process. review also identified nonconventional processes their applicability Qatar. Finally, confirmed ample demand ranging from fuel industrial chemicals pharmaceutical alcohol.

Fruit waste in million tonnes is generated every year across the world. This often leaves an environmental footprint landfills and disposal sites when not carefully transformed into useful bioproducts. Based on synthesis of data evidences from most recent literature, this review presents sources nutrient composition fleshy fruit waste, also elaborates bioactive compounds found them. In addition, green chemistry principles for conversion which involve pre-treatment, drying, fermentation, extraction (solvent supercritical fluid), activation, transesterification, carbonization were particularly highlighted. The fact that high fibre, protein, carbohydrates, fat, phytochemicals other opens it up to multiple possibilities as biomaterials food supplement, medical, textile, livestock feed agro-allied industries. There are quite some proven advances improvements concerning valorization waste. However, due attention must be further given techniques indispensable remains biomass biorefinery approaches. Accordingly, more research innovation sustainable technologies still needed valorize such ways minimize generation hazardous or toxic substances entire system.

Date press cake (DPC) is a by-product of the date syrup industry with high content dietary fibers, minerals, and antioxidant compounds. Accordingly, present study aimed to evaluate inclusion DPC on color parameters, texture profile, sensory evaluation, microstructure properties, total phenolics, capacity jam. The was included in preparation jam an increasing level 0, 3, 6, 9, 12% (w/w). results revealed that levels significantly increased hardness, cohesiveness, adhesiveness, chewiness properties increase decreased L* values a*, b*, ΔE addition phenolics dose-dependent manner highest value reported contained by 40.02 11.50% compared control, respectively. scanning electron microscopy up 9% resulted surface denser network, homogeneous structure, without cracks pores, indicating improvement morphological properties. evaluation showed prepared had overall acceptability score. This potential use formulation as natural, functional, low-cost ingredient improve jam’s textural capacity, acceptability.

Currently, foods and beverages with healthy functional properties, especially those that claim to prevent chronic diseases, are receiving more interest. As a result, numerous have been launched onto the market. Among products enhanced vinegar fermented high potential for growth. Date palm fruits versatile raw material rich in sugars, dietary fibers, minerals, vitamins, phenolic compounds; thus, they widely used food production, including date juice, jelly, butter, beverages, such as wine vinegar. Furthermore, their composition makes them suitable formulation of beverages. Microbial transformations juice include alcoholic fermentation producing an end-product, or substrate acetic fermentation. Lactic is also documented transforming syrup. However, terms acid bacteria, little evidence available on exploitation by gluconic This review provides overview fruit's composition, related health benefits human health, date-based non-alcoholic obtained bacteria
