Gas turbines produce a large amount of NOx and CO due to high temperatures insufficient combustion. Abstract Although multiple microorganisms can remove ammonium and nitrate simultaneously, their metabolic mechanisms are not well understood. Strain R-1, isolated from the activated sludge of a sewage treatment plant, was identified as Paracoccus denitrificans , found to efficiently under anaerobic aerobic conditions.
