The biological denitrification of low-C/N wastewater is a great challenge in treatment plants due to the lack microorganisms with heterotrophic nitrification–aerobic (HN-AD) abilities. In this study, Bacillus sp. L2 was isolated from aeration tank water samples using nitrification medium and screened for its ability perform HN-AD wastewater. strain showed maximum NH4+-N removal rate 98.37% under conditions. presence mixed N source, capable completely removing within 24 h. Furthermore, optimal nitrogen conditions were found be C/N = 9, pH sodium acetate as C source. Under conditions, able maintain high 0–3% salinity an concentration 200 mg/L or less. pathways NH4+→NH2OH→NO2−(↔NO3−)→NO→N2O→N2 NH4+→NH2OH→NO→N2O→N2. semi-continuous conducted immobilized technology, which resulted more than 82% after three cycles reuse. This study demonstrates potential applications.
