Microplastic (MP) pollution has garnered widespread attention because of its negative effects, even in the most remote areas Earth. However, research on MP deposition deserts, which account for 45% Earth’s total land area, remains limited. Desert environments, characterized by large temperature fluctuations, high ultraviolet radiation, and strong winds, accelerate degradation, aging, wind erosion, deposition, migration microplastics (MPs). In desert regions, MPs originate primarily from human activities, such as tourism waste, agricultural mulch residues, artificial water storage systems. Additionally, transport, entrainment, atmospheric wildlife further influence abundance these areas. As soils intensifies, it negatively affects local microbial activity, crop yields, reproduction rare wildlife, climate. response, mitigation strategies, biodegradation, organic alternatives, wasteland transformation, have been proposed. challenges remain, including a lack specific data limited economic incentives environmental protection measures. Drawing existing research, this paper provides comprehensive summary main sources areas; factors their fate; detrimental effects ecosystems (including microorganisms, animals, plants, climate); current response Valuable insights are extracted available data, highlighting status offering useful reference future area.

Abstract Tomato root soil quality and microbial community composition are important for improving fruit quality. However, the effect of biochar amendment on tomato characteristics under greenhouse production has been insufficiently explored. In this study, bacterial communities in subjected to were analyzed using Illumina sequencing. The results showed that application increased available phosphorous soils, ranging from 49.37 52.02 mg kg −1 . Biochar greatly affected quality, such as lutein content (1.55 μg g ). potassium fruits was higher than nitrogen phosphorous, reaching 1.59 addition promoted abundance Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota, Firmicutes at phylum level fruits. slightly reduced number Proteobacteria This study provides new insights into practical strategies promoting condition.

ABSTRACT Environmental pollution from plastic polymers is a global concern that harms ecosystems and human health. Developing biodegradable sodium alginate films, derived seaweed, emerges as promising solution to mitigate these impacts. The biodegradable, non‐toxic has excellent film‐forming properties, making it substitute for conventional packaging. Incorporating oils into films significantly improves their functional they are rich in bioactive compounds, such antioxidants, which increase resistance oxidation, prolonging the shelf life of packaged products. Essential provide specific antimicrobial antioxidant benefits due volatile terpenes phenols, offer additional protection against microbial degradation. Additionally, adding increases flexibility, reducing brittleness enhancing elasticity. Oils also improve films' barrier properties water vapour oxygen, preserving food quality freshness. presence adds sensory benefits, resulting with controlled release offering multifunctional approach preservation. This combination enhances functionality them sustainable efficient alternative plastics. review highlights added an environmentally friendly reduce environmental preservation, providing benefits. represents significant advance search effective options, aligning goals sustainability, consumer appreciation protection.

Although composting has many advantages in the treatment of organic waste, there are still problems and challenges associated with emissions, like NH3, VOCs, H2S, as well greenhouse gases such CO2, CH4, N2O. One promising approach to enhancing conditions is used novel analytical methods bad on artificial intelligence. To predict optimize emissions (CO, NH3) during process kinetics thought mathematical models (MM) machine learning (ML) were utilized. Data about everyday from laboratory compost’s biochar different incubation (50, 60, 70 °C) doses (0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15% d.m.) for MM ML selections training. not been very effective predicting (R2 0.1 - 0.9), while acritical neural network (ANN, Bayesian Regularized Neural Network; R2 accuracy CO:0,71, CO2:0,81, NH3:0,95, H2S:0,72)) decision tree (DT, RPART; CO:0,693, CO2:0,80, NH3:0,93, H2S:0,65) have demonstrated satisfactory results. For first time CO H2S demonstrated. Further research a semi-scale field study needed improve developments models.
