In this study, straw, kitchen waste and pine needles were used as raw materials to prepare biochar at terminal temperatures of 300, 500 700 °C (SB, KB PB), respectively. This study examines nitrogen transformation mechanisms and compost quality in mesophilic aerobic composting of wheat straw, utilizing cow manure as a co-substrate to promote sustainable agricultural waste management. Two systems were established: group A (control) B (10% addition by wet weight). The accelerated early organic matter decomposition increased total retention B. Nitrogen losses occurred primarily via ammonia volatilization during the initial final stages, while functional gene analysis revealed enhanced ammonification nitrification both systems. Microbial community showed that promoted nitrogen-fixing bacteria phase fungi associated with complex degradation later stages. With economic development and improvements in living standards, the demand for livestock products has steadily increased, resulting generation of large amounts manure, which seriously pollutes ecological environment poses a threat to human health. High-temperature aerobic composting is an effective method treating manure; however, traditional processes often lead considerable nitrogen loss, reduced efficiency soil conditioners, increased emissions harmful gases. The incorporation physical, chemical, biological additives can effectively retain within compost. Among these, microbial agents are particularly noteworthy as they precisely regulate community structure associated with transformation during composting, altering abundance functional genes enzyme activities involved transformation.
