This experimental study explores the mitigation of membrane fouling in bioreactors (MBRs) through combined use granular activated carbon (GAC) and powdered (PAC). The research assesses impact these materials on resistance, critical flux, permeate quality using various mixed liquor suspended solids concentrations dosages. results indicate that GAC-PAC combination significantly reduces total filtration particularly cake layer by 11.7% to 13.6% compared setups without or with individual types. also reveals this decreased rate 15% 24% at flux steps, demonstrating substantial improvements operational efficiency. Furthermore, combination, which produces an adsorption process, enhances quality, achieving near-complete removal organic matter, nitrogen, turbidity, phosphorus reaching 99%. These findings demonstrate GAC PAC not only but improves overall MBR performance, making it a viable strategy for enhancing efficiency wastewater treatment processes.
