Distillery wastewater (DWW), characterized by high organic and nutrient loads, represents a significant environmental challenge, requiring effective sustainable treatment solutions. This study investigates an innovative approach that integrates microalgae cultivation with DWW for simultaneous bioremediation biomass production, while also exploring carbon sequestration. We analyzed the growth characteristics, removal efficiency, protein accumulation, ultrastructural changes of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Scenedesmus dimorphus under varying nitrogen-to-phosphorus (N/P) ratios in diluted DWW. Optimal accumulation were achieved at N/P concentrations 46/11.5 mg L-1. C. showed particularly rates, significantly rates total nitrogen, phosphorus, chemical oxygen demand. S. dimorphus, same conditions, demonstrated exceptional effectively removed pollutants. Both species enhanced performance these microalgal cell organelles remaining structurally intact, chloroplasts thylakoid layers well-developed. The explored sequestration potential using CO2 concentrations, where exhibited 3000 ppm CO2. integrated offers economically feasible solution distillery treatment, simultaneously enabling production capture. dual benefits bioenergy generation position this technology as promising pathway resource management protection.
