Abstract Solar steam generation (SSG) offers a cost-effective solution for producing clean water by utilizing solar energy. However, integrating effective thermal management and transportation to develop high-efficiency evaporators remains significant challenge. Here, inspired the hierarchical structure of stem bird paradise, three-dimensional multiscale liquid metal/polyacrylonitrile (LM/PAN) evaporator is fabricated assembling LM/PAN fibers. The strong localized surface plasmon resonance LM particles porous fibers with interconnected channels lead efficient light absorption up 90.9%. Consequently, biomimetic achieves an outstanding evaporation rate 2.66 kg m −2 h −1 energy efficiency 96.5% under one sun irradiation exceptional 2.58 in brine. Additionally, demonstrates superior purification performance seawater, concentration Na + , Mg 2+ K Ca real seawater dramatically decreased three orders less than 7 mg L after desalination irradiation. regulates as well highly solar-driven evaporation, providing valuable insight into structural design principles advanced SSG systems.
