Climate change demands innovative and holistic approaches to urban design that address both the tangible intangible challenges posed by a rapidly evolving environment. This article explores necessity of transdisciplinary approach climate adaptation in spaces, emphasizing integration architecture, social innovation, more-than-human design, multisensory analysis. We examine current controversies architectural solutions adaptation. Drawing on state-of-the-art from key fields, we discuss potential Nature-based Solutions, co-creation practices, multimodal create adaptive spaces physical, emotional, needs human inhabitants. The reviews emerging frameworks case studies, including shelters, biodiversity-inclusive soundscapes smellscapes, demonstrate importance considering diverse perspectives stakeholders. By synthesizing these findings, propose an integrated framework for moves beyond traditional overlapping layers awareness, ecological diversity, cultural sensitivity.

The sonoscape of a small town at the foot Northern Apennines Mountains in north–central Italy was studied using regular grid automatic recording devices, which collected ambient sounds during spring 2024. study area is characterized by high landscape heterogeneity, result widespread suburban agricultural abandonment and urban development. Sonic data were analyzed Heterogeneity Index nine derivative metrics. sonic signatures from 26 stations exhibited distinct, spatially explicit patterns that hypothesized to be related set 11 landcover types seven unique sound profile each sample site consistent with emerging heterogeneity typical many Mediterranean regions. Some indices stronger correlations metrics than others. In particular, Effective Number Frequency Bins Ratio (ENFBr) Sheldon’s Evenness (E) proved particularly effective revealing link between processes patterns. displayed significantly aligned their variability, highlighting ecological physical domains area. This case underscores importance selecting appropriate describe complex processes, such as relationships cause-and-effect dynamics environmental among human altered landscapes.
