Due to the high availability of carbohydrates in cellular composition algae and absence lignin most species, application their hydrolysates as raw material production biomolecules biorefineries has stimulated development studies that aim reduce challenges related green production, parallel with economic obstacles, when compared other biomass generation routes. The prevailing extractive economic model is unsustainable due to the finite nature of resources, thereby necessitating development alternative models and policies. anaerobic digestion (AD) process key achieving this objective, as it facilitates conversion organic waste into biogas nutrient-rich digestate. This approach aligned with principles a circular economy contributes reduction in carbon emissions. study aims conduct comprehensive bibliometric analysis literature published over past three decades (1993–2023). will be based on data drawn from Scopus database then analysed using VOSviewer software, which allows for interconnection revised bibliography through series selected keywords. results demonstrated existence four clusters: (i) beneficial valorisation waste; (ii) volatile fatty acids biohydrogen added value by-products resulting AD; (iii) lignocellulosic substrates their by-products; iv) main products AD, demonstrates growing interest AD within biorefinery concept recent years, showcasing its potential effective management integration production chain economy.

In this study, we investigated the valorization potential of Turkish delight (D), sunflower heads (S), and tea stalks (T) through mono- co-digestion in anaerobic digesters. Co-digestion resulted lower methane production, with yields for D, delight+sunflower (DS), heads+tea stalk (DST) at 388, 312, 234 mL CH4/g TVS, respectively. Metagenomic analyses unveiled substrate-dependent differences microbial community dynamics. Furthermore, acidogenic fermentation total acetic acid production 2828, 1707, 1261 mg/L DS, DST, The economic assessment demonstrated that valuation derived from VFA was nearly double obtained even samples yields. Our study underscores significance recognizing alongside as valuable outputs, emerging a promising avenue to enhance viability waste within circular economy framework.
