As urbanization continues to accelerate globally, energy demand in cities is reaching unprecedented levels, contributing greenhouse gas emissions. In response, the concept of net-zero building (NZEB) becoming a sustainable solution for urban needs. NZEB aims achieve footprint by balancing it consumes with produces, primarily from renewable (RE) sources. This comprehensive literature review-based study explores role RE synergies context NZEBs, including discussions on definition and development RE-synergies achieving trends clusters climate change impacts their performance evaluation, policy regulatory frameworks, challenges possible solutions related NZEBs. It has been identified that while customizing definitions align regional supply important, same highly dependent architectural micro-climate features. In the global push for carbon neutrality and emergence of net-zero buildings (NZCBs), lack substantial progress in achieving NZCB goals due to unaddressed barriers is a pressing issue. While there are ongoing initiatives NZCB, crucial research gap exists thorough examination specific their interconnected complexities, impeding agenda. This study aims fill this by identifying investigating negating implementation Prefabricated NZCBs through systematic literature review analyzing relationships using Interpretative structural modeling (ISM) analysis. With the rise of individual consumerism, housing developers have increasingly recognized advantages mass-customized and offered customized units for target groups. However, overall building designs are often standardized rather than tailored to user needs, particularly in integration sustainable features. Accordingly, this study employed Kano model quality function deployment (QFD) approach examine users' requirements features proposed design strategies housing.
