This comprehensive review explores the potential of tailored carbon materials (TCM) for efficient photocatalytic degradation polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are persistent and toxic organic pollutants posing significant environmental challenges. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) pollution has emerged as a significant environmental issue in Bangladesh the recent years, driven by both economic and population growth. This review aims to investigate current trends PAHs research, covering sediments, water, aquatic organisms, air particles, associated health risks Bangladesh. A comparative analysis with research other countries is conducted, potential future directions are explored. suggests that on less well studied fewer publications compared countries. Dominant sources of fossil fuel combustion, petroleum hydrocarbons, urban discharges, industrial emissions, shipbreaking, shipping activities. The concentrations organisms were found be higher than those most around world. Therefore, coastal sediments showed areas. The risk assessment of PAHs in settled indoor dusts from different localities Awka, Ekwulobia, and Rumuodomaya-Ogale, Eastern Nigeria, were investigated. Settled dust samples (n = 144) collected the windows floor using brush analysed for with GC- FID. The following study presents the concentrations of 10 individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs10) and total concentration PAHs (ΣPAHs) determined in soils protected areas Southern Poland (EU). discussed here include 5 landscape parks nature reserves located Małopolska region. Surface soil samples were collected at 39 locations characterised by different natural conditions human pressure level. used to determine contents anthracene, benzo[a]pyrene, benz[a]anthracene, benzo[b]fluoranthene, benzo[k]fluoranthene, benzo[g,h,i]perylene, chrysene, dibenz[a,h]anthracene, indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene naphthalene. These ranged from < 0.005 6.34 mg/kg. When considering legal regulations currently force, this meant that permissible values exceeded 23% analysed, while increased found another 26% samples. limit most case benzo[b]fluoranthene benzo[a]pyrene.
