The present study investigated the concentrations, sources, and potential health risk assessment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in house dust from residences Samoeng District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. Samples 48 households were analyzed for 16 PAHs. total concentrations PAHs (ΣPAHs) ranged between 270.1 to 45,386.8 ng g−1, with a mean 3942.4 ± 8175.1 g−1. Pyrene (Pyr), benzo(k)fluoranthene (BkF), indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene (IcdP) predominant compounds. Diagnostic ratios principal component analysis (PCA) showed wood burning biomass as sources. Evaluations incremental lifetime cancer (ILCR) higher risks, especially children (average ILCR = 6.57 × 10−3), dermal contact main exposed pathway. Risks exceeded acceptable criteria (10−6 10−4), suggesting serious public problems. results highlight significance pollution mitigation measures, such reducing use combustion improving indoor air quality, protecting vulnerable populations rural regions. research conducted presents important insights into environmental impacts shows importance procedures that can reduce exposure.

We measured PAHs concentrations to understand the potential short and long-term health risks workers. In anode cooking area, lowest highest of were found for DahA (dibenzo[a,h]anthracene) at 0.373 ± 0.326 µg/m3 Chry (chrysene) 1.923 1.258 µg/m3, respectively. anode-making these higher, with 0.435 0.221 peaking 3.841 1.702 µg/m3. Risk assessment based on indicates a hierarchical order individual in led by BaP (benzo[a]pyrene), followed other specific compounds. The total hazard quotient (THQ) PAH exposure both areas significantly exceeds threshold considered cancer risk, emphasizing considerable danger This study underscores urgent need mitigate industrial settings protect worker from carcinogenic such hazardous

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a group of complex chemicals that formed and released during incomplete combustion industrial processes or pyrolysis the organic matter. Human exposure to PAHs primarily occurs through food consumption. One possible causes formation in is free radicals. Also, confirmed mechanism their toxicity living organisms oxidative stress. This complication also caused by radicals metabolism. Chronic can lead carcinogenic, teratogenic mutagenic effects humans. Consequently, there need minimize presence these compounds food. Research suggests antioxidants play crucial role reducing PAH levels Therefore, formulating products with right combination could be an effective strategy mitigate PAHs. Moreover, have been found alleviate associated human body. manuscript discusses mechanisms organisms.

The Marshall Fire was a wildland urban interface (WUI) fire that destroyed more than 1000 structures in two communities Colorado. High winds carried smoke and ash into an unknown number of buildings that, while not incinerated, were significantly damaged. We aimed to understand whether or damage one's home associated with physical health impacts the event for people living around zone whose homes completely destroyed. analyzed data collected from participants who responded Wave 1 (six months postfire; N = 642) 2 (one-year 413) Unified Research Survey. used self-reported exposure smells their as measures also created spatial based on proximity structures. Reporting headache statistically all metrics (self-reported proximity), reporting strange taste mouth having within 250 m home. Study findings can inform response planning future WUI fires protect residents smoke-damaged homes.

Recent studies have shown that kitchen pollution is a major concern during cooking. Cooking can release harmful pollutants such as various sizes of particulate matters (PMs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) harm the human body directly or indirectly. This study examined from cooking in different Chinese areas, including concentrations PMs size distribution well PAHs rural urban locations. were collected cooking, particular matter analysed. Additionally, conducted risk assessment economic analysis. The results showed released kitchens higher than kitchens. Specifically, PM 1.0 , 2.5 10 5.05, 3.39 3.78 times PAH concentration was 4.79, 5.82 6.30 kitchens, respectively. Skin contact poses highest carcinogenic amongst pathways. Females had exposure to carcinogens males. Furthermore, smaller adsorption capacity for are more larger particles. effects fuels. It aimed improve environments increase use clean energy.
