This
article
revisits
the
Equivalent
Contact
Temperature
(ECT)
model
by
incorporating
winter
scenarios
with
seat
heating,
which
were
unaddressed
in
previous
studies.
The
research
focuses
on
enhancing
model's
accuracy
evaluating
thermal
comfort
for
seated
individuals
under
non-uniform
conditions,
particularly
buttocks
and
back.
These
contact
areas
are
crucial
both
local
overall
comfort,
especially
Personalised
Environmental
Control
Systems
(PECS),
like
heating
ventilation,
operate
close
to
body.
PECS
more
energy
efficient
than
traditional
HVAC
systems,
offering
customisation
individual
preferences
while
efficiency
buildings
vehicles.
A
participant
study
at
air
temperatures
of
17
°C
18
validated
ECT
approach,
confirming
effectiveness
revealing
key
correlations
between
values
ratings.
Additionally,
an
equivalent
skin
temperature
a
evaluation
scheme
conditions
introduced.
