Abstract The purpose of the work was to determine trends in land cover dynamics a case study small town for period from 1991 2021 using GIS technologies find measures prevent negative anthropogenic impacts. object is territory Kaharlyk, Kyiv region, Ukraine, and its landscaping system. Dynamic processes were monitored freely available Landsat time series. classified into five categories: forest, grassland, cropland, urban (buildings) wetland (water). Using Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis, connectivity elements forest determined. Despite relatively high rates provision population with green infrastructure large forested area, forests have an insular (fragmentary) nature low connectivity. This does not contribute creation cohesive network ecological framework town. It established that there no significant changes town, however, some emerged, which should be taken account future planning.

Climate change is one of the leading causes global biodiversity declines and extinctions. Yet knowledge its impact on African buffalo distribution continent lacking. In this study, we apply ensemble species modelling to predict two coarsely defined functional groups under current future climate scenarios (Shared Socioeconmic Pathway, SSP245 SSP585 in 2100) estimate habitat representation within protected areas. Model predictions indicate significant range contraction expansion savanna forest groups, respectively. Also, proportion suitable habitats for both represented poorly areas, with coverage expected decline further. Our findings reveal plausible implications conservation zoonotic diseases. Overall, climate-based approach could be applied model subspecies at local geographical scales countries adequately sampled occurrence data support decision-making.

Planning for a green–blue infrastructure system around big cities, having the shape of belt, to connect natural areas—such as green spaces, water, and agricultural land—is solution mitigating challenges climate change urban sprawl. In this context, study presents an innovative information technology assessing connectivity blue areas in metropolitan area Bucharest, Romania. The is try stop sprawl Bucharest into adjacent rural answer need providing ecosystem services. methodology uses datasets compatible with European databases on environmental issues, CORINE Land Cover 2018 Urban Atlas, two tools ArcGIS PRO 2.9 software package, namely Cost Raster Connectivity. Based results, we developed framework implementing strategy area. Our starter planning belt model good practice terms making part territorial planning.
