This study was sought to investigate the chemical composition and antibacterial antiulcerative colitis (UC) effects of essential oil from Pruni Semen (PSEO). A GC-MS assay showed that major compounds in PSEO were products amygdalin hydrolysis, which possessed great anti-inflammatory potential. In vitro experiments demonstrated treatment inhibited activity four kinds intestinal pathogens probably by disrupting cell wall. Further vivo studies administration significantly improved physiological indexes, attenuated histopathological characteristics, proinflammatory cytokine production dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced UC mice. Network pharmacology molecular docking results predicted might prevent via regulating PI3K/AKT pathway. Western blotting immunofluorescence assays further conducted for verification, evidenced intervention regulated pathway expression its downstream proteins DSS-induced provide a new dietary strategy treatment.
