The
results
on
the
photocatalytic
activity
of
0
-2
wt.%
Pt/g-C
3
N
4
in
hydrogen
evolution
reaction
under
visible
light
(430
nm)
are
presented.Triethanolamine
(TEOA),
glycerol,
glucose
and
cellulose
were
used
as
electron
donor.During
reaction,
not
only
target
product,
hydrogen,
but
also
by-products
gas
phase,
namely
CO
2
,
controlled.In
order
to
study
chemical
composition,
microstructure
optical
properties,
samples
investigated
by
XPS,
TEM
diffuse
reflection
methods.The
maximum
rate
obtained
for
1
%
from
TEOA
solution
was
3.96
µmol•min
-1
with
a
selectivity
100
%.The
use
glycerol
resulted
production
syngas,
varying
platinum
content
allowed
process
vary
(42.4
%).Glucose
using
led
formation
mixture
H
90
or
higher.In
general,
hydrogen-containing
mixtures
organic
substrates
can
be
further

Pt-TiO2
systems
are
the
most
widely
used
photocatalysts
in
production
of
green
hydrogen
from
glycerol
photoreforming.
To
incorporate
metals
on
surface
materials,
photodeposition
is
method
because
it
employs
mild
conditions.
However,
despite
its
use,
there
some
parameters
that
have
not
been
deeply
studied,
such
as
appropriate
metal
loading
and
itself,
to
obtain
a
better
dispersion
Pt.
In
this
work,
six
catalysts
were
synthesized
by
classical
employing
UV
radiation.
The
studied
Pt
wt.%
range
was
0.15–0.60
wt.%,
being
incorporated
one
step
or
subsequent
ones.
HRTEM
analyses
showed
both
methods
allowed
homogeneous
distribution
Pt,
both,
particle
size
around
2.3–3.6
nm,
increasing
with
loading.
photocatalytic
activity
materials
tested
photoreforming
under
radiation,
0.45
Pt-containing
solid
had
highest
production.
This
might
suggest
0.40%
for
these
conditions
incorporating
desired
percentage
efficient
terms
energy
time
savings.

TiO2.
Notably,
carbon
nitride
(CN)
yield
after
16
h
testing.
The
study
emphasizes
importance
tailoring
catalyst
selection
specific
reactions,
is
closely
tied
structural
chemical
properties
materials.
These
findings
contribute
development
efficient
photocatalysts
for
sustainable
biomass
valorization
processes.
