Abstract Aclonifen is a diphenyl ether herbicide being included in the list of priority substances. Nevertheless, data related to its sublethal effects on fish are limited. Therefore, present study has been carried out investigate toxic aclonifen juvenile Oncorhynchus mykiss following 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours application concentrations 12.7, 63.5 127 μg/L. The resulted altered blood biochemistry appearing as hyperglycemia, decreased cholesterol induced activities transaminases ALT AST. inhibition AChE brain, gill liver was unimportant revealing weak potential anticholinesterase. induction recorded for SOD, CAT, GPx GST accompanied with sustained elevation TBARS PC levels. It demonstrates both pro-oxidant oxidation lipid proteins resulting loss membrane integrity protein function. Hyperglycemic condition levels might be proposed general adaptive responses compensate increased energy demand. integrative assessment multi-biomarker shows concentration duration rise calculated indexes. SOD achieved maximum scores liver, respectively. Considering results, oxidative stress inducing anticholinesterase activity along disturbing impact were evidenced. Moreover, adverse affects observed after short term O. mykiss, risk may cause at population level aquatic ecosystems emphasizing importance pesticide regulations avoid impacts non-target species.

Overusing the insecticide imidacloprid (IMD) in agriculture has led to its presence water bodies, causing serious environmental issues and fish toxicity. This study explored potential benefits of grape seed extract (GSE) mitigating IMD-induced growth hormonal gastrointestinal toxicity Nile tilapia. A total 240 healthy juvenile tilapias Oreochromis niloticus (O. niloticus), weighing an average 11.44 ± 2.01 g at 2 weeks age, were divided equally into four groups, each with three replicates. The control group received no special treatment, while second was given a diet containing 2% GSE®. third exposed 1.5 µg IMD per liter water. fourth subjected same exposure fed These treatments administered continuously for 75 days. Growth indices, survival rate, biochemical parameters, digestive enzymes measured. In addition, growth-related hormones, intestinal malondialdehyde (MDA), catalase (CAT) evaluated. Histological evaluations conducted on stomach, duodenum, ileum, hepatopancreas, alongside body composition analysis. Exposure delayed growth, impaired serum biochemistry enzyme activity, altered composition, obstructed responses, decreased CAT increased MDA. All tissues exhibited signs degradation. Combining dietary GSE® improved former parameters affected by IMD. conclusion, research suggests that incorporating may help reduce adverse effects tilapia, presenting promising opportunity address impacts contamination aquatic ecosystems.

Achillea wilhelmsii (AW), a plant rich in flavonoids, including lutein, apigenin, rutin, and phenolic compounds with antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal properties, is used traditional medicine. In this study, the impact of AW extract on growth, immune response, biochemical indices rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was investigated. Over 8 weeks, fish were fed diets supplemented varying concentrations (0%, 0.5%, 1%, or 2%). No significant differences observed growth performance, glucose levels, key enzymes such as lactic acid dehydrogenase, alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) between AW-supplemented groups control group. However, that received supplementation showed significantly higher levels total serum protein, lysozyme activity, superoxide dismutase (SOD) immunoglobulin M (IgM). Moreover, AW-fed exhibited lower mortality after exposure to Yersinia ruckeri. conclusion, could enhance function decrease Y. Therefore, using (1% 2%) aquaculture be justified means increase resistance pathogens improve system performance fish.
