Blood-based biochemical assays are used as predictive and diagnostic methods to evaluate fish welfare in aquaculture research. The variations of blood parameters commonly biomarkers exposure toxic agents. Blood can help identify the magnitude toxicity mechanisms by which particular agents act on organisms. Some typically measured also be evaluated whole body early developmental stages (embryos larvae) that often toxicological studies. This review assessed usefulness various indices biomarkers. Analysis multiple studies showed toxicity-induced changes most depend agent concentration duration. Also, manifest different sensitivity intoxication, diverse directions may occur. Among parameters, some general physiological stress, while others indicate dysfunctions organs. Moreover, hormonal endpoints seem sensitive but nonspecific intoxication fish.
