Abstract Background The use of telemedicine technology has significantly increased in recent years, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aimed to investigate for cancer patients Methods was a scoping review conducted 2023. Various databases including PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, Cochrane Library, Ovid, IEEE Xplore, ProQuest, Embase, and Google Scholar search engine were searched. All quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method studies published English between 2020 2022 included. Finally, needed data extracted, results synthesized reported narratively. Results A total 29 articles included this review. showed that teleconsultation, televisit, telerehabilitation common services, video conferencing telephone technologies used these studies. In most cases, healthcare providers preferred services compared face-to-face consultations due their convenience advantages. Furthermore, findings revealed terms clinical outcomes, could effectively reduce anxiety, pain, sleep disorders, hospital admission rates. Conclusion provided valuable insights into various technologies, users’ perspectives, outcomes Overall, positive satisfaction can be expanded, care. Future research needs both non-clinical effectiveness using improving care delivery, which help develop more successful strategies implementing technology.

Importance Cytokine storm due to COVID-19 can cause high morbidity and mortality may be more common in patients with cancer treated immunotherapy (IO) immune system activation. Objective To determine the association of baseline immunosuppression and/or IO-based therapies severity cytokine cancer. Design, Setting, Participants This registry-based retrospective cohort study included 12 046 reported Cancer Consortium (CCC19) registry from March 2020 May 2022. The CCC19 is a centralized international multi-institutional current or past diagnosis Records analyzed active previous who had laboratory-confirmed infection SARS-CoV-2 by polymerase chain reaction serologic findings. Exposures Immunosuppression therapy; systemic anticancer therapy (IO non-IO). Main Outcomes Measures primary outcome was 5-level ordinal scale severity: no complications; hospitalized without requiring oxygen; required intensive care unit admission mechanical ventilation; death. secondary occurrence storm. Results median age entire 65 years (interquartile range [IQR], 54-74) 6359 were female (52.8%) 6598 (54.8%) non-Hispanic White. A total 599 (5.0%) received IO, whereas 4327 (35.9%) non-IO therapies, 7120 (59.1%) did not receive any antineoplastic regimen within 3 months prior diagnosis. Although difference found IO group compared untreated (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 0.80; 95% CI, 0.56-1.13, aOR, 0.89; 0.41-1.93, respectively), (vs untreated) worse (aOR, 3.33; 1.38-8.01, 4.41; 1.71-11.38, respectively). Patients receiving also 1.79; 1.36-2.35) 2.32; 1.42-3.79). Conclusions Relevance that COVID-19, administration especially context associated severe clinical outcomes development Trial Registration ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04354701

Abstract Purpose The aim of our study was to explore the impact COVID-19 pandemic on reported cancer cases in Bavaria, Germany, by comparing pre-pandemic (March 2019 February 2020) and period 2020 2021). Methods Data incident were retrieved from Bavarian Cancer Registry (until 22nd April 2022). We included patients with malignant situ neoplasms pathology departments consistent reporting. calculated number during 95% confidence intervals (CI) Bonferroni correction (α = 0.0018) based a Poisson approach. stratified for malignancy (malignant, situ), tumor site, month year. Results available 30 out 58 (51.7%) Bavaria. Incident dropped 42,857 39,980 (− 6.7%; CI − 8.7%, 4.7%). Reductions higher colon, rectum, skin/melanoma as well liver (> 10.0% reduction) less breast (4.9% reduction). No case reductions observed pancreas, esophagus, ovary, cervix. Percent changes largest 20.9%; 24.7%, 16.8%) January 2021 25.2%; 28.8%, 21.5%) compared previous Declines tended be larger neoplasms. Conclusion Detection diagnosis substantially reduced pandemic. Potential effects, e.g. stage shift tumors or an increase mortality, need monitored.
