base
and
using

molecular
sieves
as
HF
scavenger,
imines
derived
from
salicylaldehydes
diethyl
aminomalonate
react
with
ethenesulfonyl
fluorides
through
a
tandem
[3+2]
cyclization-SuFEx
click
reaction
to
produce
in
high
yields.

Abstract
Chemoselective
transformations
of
functionalized
sulfonyl
fluorides
and
chlorides
are
surveyed
comprehensively.
It
is
shown
that
provide
an
excellent
selectivity
control
in
their
reactions.
Thus,
numerous
conditions
tolerated
by
the
SO
2
F
group
–
from
amide
ester
formation
to
directed
ortho
‐lithiation
transition‐metal‐catalyzed
cross‐couplings.
Meanwhile,
sulfur
(VI)
fluoride
exchange
(SuFEx)
also
compatible
with
functional
groups,
thus
confirming
its
title
“another
click
reaction”.
On
contrary,
a
few
exceptions,
most
typically
occur
at
Cl
moiety.
