Gadolinium functionalized carbon dot complexes (Gd-CDs) have both the fluorescent properties of dots and magnetic characteristics gadolinium ions, exhibiting excellent biocompatibility, high spatial resolution, sensitivity, deep tissue penetration in bioimaging. As fluorescence (FL) resonance imaging (MRI) probes, Gd-CDs attracted significant attention dual-modal biological imaging. This review summarizes recent advances Gd-CDs, focusing on their structure, optical properties, applications First, according to different existing forms dots, structures are categorized into chelation, electrostatic interaction, encapsulation. Second, mechanisms performances introduced detail. The reported a maximum quantum yield 69.86%, with emission wavelength reaching up 625 nm, optimum longitudinal transverse relaxivity rates 35.39 115.6 mM-1 s-1, respectively, showing FL/MRI capacities. Leveraging disulfide (-S-S-) or diselenide (-Se-Se-) units as triggers in the design of small-molecule fluorescent probes for detecting intracellular reductive species has demonstrated high efficacy. However, selenenylsulfides, which exhibit reactivity between diselenides and disulfides, remain relatively unexplored. In this work, we compare efficiency -S-S-, seleno-sulfur (-Se-S-), sulfur-selenium (-S-Se-) structural constructing thiol probes, disclose scaffold -Se-S- a versatile recognition site thiols, successfully apply unit to near-infrared (NIR) probe, ASC-SeS. The mechanism reveals that breaking bond leads selenolate, undergoes faster cyclization than corresponding thiolate is from cleavage -S-S- -S-Se- bond. Conjugation trigger with multiple NIR fluorophores validates general applicability linear selenenylsulfides accelerating response rate thiols. By harnessing superior responsiveness ASC-SeS, employ probe live cells vivo, elucidate severe depletion thiols drug-induced liver injury (DILI).

Abstract The precise detection of multiple microRNAs (miRNAs) is great significance to the classification various cell subtypes. However, miRNA hindered by signal leakage, false‐positive signals and low expression miRNAs. Herein, a DNA nanodevice in second near infrared region (NIR‐II, 1000‐1700 nm) (DND‐II) developed for dual miRNAs bioimaging based on “AND” logic‐gate amplification strategy. spatiotemporally controlled logic‐gate‐based DND‐II fabricated thermosensitive liposomes integrated with near‐infrared probes. In particular, “always‐on” photoacoustic probes provided an additional imaging tool monitor distribution vivo. Abstract Hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S) is a vital gaseous signaling molecule that plays central role in various physiological and pathological processes. Given the complementary advantages of fluorescence (FL) photoacoustic (PA) imaging, there growing demand for dual‐ratiometric probes enable precise vivo monitoring H S levels. In this study, use 2‐mercapto‐1,3,4‐thiadiazole (MTD) as novel recognition group presented first time, following conjugation with cyanine dyes to obtain new PA probe Cy‐MTD.
