This paper presents the performance assessment of a novel air-sealed visor for medical care based on experiments. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provides effective aerodynamic sealing breathing zone, thus reducing risk inhaling droplets and aerosols carrying potential viral load. The air curtain supply system was designed after computational fluid dynamics exploratory simulations to determine suitable airflow conditions. main parameters under study are velocities fraction contaminated in zone. impact different rates, human breathing, thermal plume lateral barriers reduce leakage, investigated. For rate considering worst-case scenario with environment, results indicate that this PPE can zone by 31% 82%, without physical barriers, respectively. Although body has high velocity profile, it just affects device efficiency 2%. process increases improving 32%. shows using as an infection control barrier healthcare workers.

Abstract Background Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) have higher healthcare needs, but experience difficulties accessing preventative healthcare. Despite this inequity, models of care that address barriers provide customized treatment are limited, exacerbating vulnerabilities poorer health outcomes. This study describes the development a procedural model (PMOC) for adults disabilities, evaluates sedation tier, exploring procedure Methods Development PMOC was informed by current evidence themes identified in stakeholder consultation literature. A retrospective cohort evaluated option within model, conducted at community‐based disability service Melbourne, Australia. All records over 14‐month period were included. Descriptive statistics univariate logistic regression analysis used to analyze data. Results The includes assessment, intervention, evaluation tiers. Intervention options range from least most invasive, culminating level (mild; oral psychoactive, moderate; midazolam nitrous oxide, high; general anesthetic). total 127 IDDs received procedures under sedation; median age 26 years, 61% lived family, 81% had multiple disabilities. 197 referred CDDH, including immunization (61%) reviews (23%), resulted 98% completion rate. Mild ( n = 36) moderate 95) 67% procedures. correctly predicted 91% requirements. Living family (OR 2.211, 95% CI 1.001–4.885, p 0.05); 7.935, 4.025–15.644, <0.001); 3.064, 1.123–8.362, 0.029) associated mild, high options, respectively.
