Abstract Biochar shows significant potential to serve as a globally applicable material remediate water and soil owing the extensive availability of feedstocks conducive physio-chemical surface characteristics. This review aims highlight biochar production technologies, characteristics biochar, latest advancements in immobilizing eliminating heavy metal ions organic pollutants water.
