The presence of pharmaceuticals in wastewater, mainly hospital is a serious environmental concern, as they are not removed by conventional processes wastewater treatment plants and discharged into the natural environment. This work proposes extracting drugs from using natural, renewable, non-toxic solvents such terpenes eutectic solvents. First, molecular simulation has been used with COSMO-RS method performing massive screening 43 terpenes, 11 solvents, 5 31 common pharmaceuticals. most promising have chosen to extract simultaneously. Experimental tests ultrapure water real matrices showed strong influence pH matrix on extraction. Under optimal conditions, global pharmaceutical extraction yields carvacrol 94.16 % solvent thymol + dodecanoic acid 96.86 were obtained. regeneration reuse both studied consecutive stages, showing carvacrol's high stability regenerability. Using carvacrol, countercurrent fast mass transfer low solvent-to-feed (S/F) ratios. predictions obtained similar experimental results, confirming reliability this for selecting alternative Finally, drug removal process was simulated complete could be achieved an S/F 2.00 at 4.00 extractor six equilibrium stages.
