Abstract Sulfate radicals based advanced oxidation processes (SR‐AOPs) have gained attention recently due to their high mineralization capability in environmental remediation. The persulfate (PS) activation activity of cobalt‐based semiconductors has epitomized them as preferred catalysts for SR‐AOPs but shortcomings such leaching, and loss catalytic active sites limit applicability. Herein, two different strategies are employed minimize leaching improve charge transportation separation efficient PS under visible light irradiation using LDH/CaCO 3 /PS Ba 2 CoMnO 5 AOP systems synthesized by solid state method. achieved 17.9% higher reaction rate than degradation amoxicillin (AMX) with TOC efficacy. Despite SO 4 •− OH • existence involvement both systems, the pathways mapped from QTOF‐HPLC‐MS data demonstrated formation during AMX mineralization. In the past seven years, dual Z-scheme heterojunctions evolved as favorable approaches for enhanced charge carrier separation through direct or indirect transfer transportation mechanisms. The development of low-cost photostable heterostructures with robust interfacial contact is critical for competent photoactivity and practical applications. solid-state approach was successfully employed fabrication novel stacked oval-shaped CoMn-LDH/C-MgO composites Mn-O-Mg bridges efficient charge separation induced by S-scheme transfer degradation amoxicillin (AMX). persulfate (PS) activation mechanism confirmed Raman analysis using bond length relationship to peak shifts. PS rate 1.8 times CoMn-LDH/PS the heterojunction a 99.97 ± 0.16 % removal efficiency after 60 min irradiation at pH 5.2. photocatalytic ozonation increased AMX mineralization up 8 compared ozonation. Photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceutical pollutants in water or wastewater is becoming a hot topic for environmental clean-up. Herein, novel CeFeCu trimetal oxide (CFC TMO)/Bi2O3 (CFCB) photocatalysts were prepared through precursor mixing, ultrasonication, and calcination methods used photocatalytic sulfamethoxazole (SMZ). The pseudo-first order kinetic rate CFCB-2 catalyst on SMZ reached 0.0577 min−1 which 4.93 10.02 times higher than α-Bi2O3 CFC TMO under visible light illumination. This was proved by the strong interaction between pristine materials as confirmed XPS density functional theory (DFT) calculations. DFT calculations indicated that having more orbital distribution could make it easier to capture electrons produce radicals electron transfer. Meanwhile by-products showed no sign cytotoxicity towards human embryonic kidney cell line (HEK 293) intestinal epithelial (CACO-2). findings scavenger experiments ESR measurements •OH •O2− played superior role decomposition SMZ. Furthermore, S-scheme charge carrier transfer pathway are proposed analysed. study paves ways into promising strategy construction based heterojunction decontamination can be extended other applications such Fenton-like reactions persulfate activation.

The increasing demand for clean water requires the development of simple, cheap, and efficient catalysts systems pollution remediation.
