A significant amount of Mandarin Wastewater is generated in the production canned mandarin segments. To best our knowledge, efficiency membranes to recover phenolic compounds present has never been studied before. The highest added value polyphenols cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries greatly encourages its purification as much possible. In this study, different ultrafiltration nanofiltration were tested, combination was a 5 kDa PES spiral-wound membrane at 3 bar, followed by NF270–2540 flat-sheet polypiperazine-amide 10 bar. Ultrafiltration able retain pigments (R = 90 %), pectins 63 sugars 58 %). Then, passed permeate which used feed for nanofiltration. Finally, concentrated retentate 80 while partially separated 50 For more detailed profile, liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry performed with initial wastewater permeate. results showed rejection most (rejection >60 %) purity chemical family flavonoids doubled.

Acid whey (AW), a by-product from the production of acidified dairy products, contains high amounts lactic acid and minerals that can be recovered by electrodialysis (ED). To better understand process improve its efficiency, objective this study was to investigate fouling ion-exchange membranes (IEMs) during ED AW concentrated reverse osmosis (ROAW), underlimiting (ULCD), limiting (LCD) overlimiting current density operating conditions (OLCD). The structure, hydrophobicity, chemical composition showed differences regarding on anion- (AEM) cation- (CEM) exchange facing diluate concentrate, both for ROAW. Furthermore, at OLCD tends reduce compared ULCD, due expected generation electroconvective vortices. 2D fluorescence spectroscopy Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) provided complementary more detailed information efficiency cleaning procedure. spectra AEM surfaces in contact with change than those concentrate. FTIR analyses presence lactose which could not detected fluorescence.
