Highly crystalline carbon nitride (CCN), benefiting from the reduced structural imperfections, enables improved electron-hole separation. Self-organized, well-defined porphyrin-based nanostructures with controllable sizes and morphologies are in high demand for the photodegradation of hazardous contaminants under sunlight. From this perspective, review summarizes development progress fabrication by changing their synthetic strategies designs. Porphyrin-based can be fabricated using several methods, including ionic self-assembly, metal–ligand coordination, reprecipitation, surfactant-assisted methods. The utility porphyrins permits organization porphyrin building blocks into nanostructures, which remarkably improve light-harvesting properties photostability. tunable functionalization distinctive structures nanomaterials trigger junction charge-transfer mechanism facilitate pollutant dyes. Finally, or porphyrin/metal nanohybrids explored to amplify photocatalytic efficiency.
