Abstract The precise tailoring of the composition and structure porous carbon is crucial for its application in capacitors. Herein, a refined stepwise carbonization strategy, involving holding material at melting temperature metal salts controlled carbonization, proposed to precisely design coal tar pitch (CTP)‐based carbon. effectively modulates yield, pore structure, defect level Dwelling point promotes dehydration‐condensation CTP stabilizes skeleton, yielding high content. Theoretical calculations elucidate interaction between hydroxyl oxygen CTP, energy barrier as metric evaluate ability regulate microcrystalline proposed. Meanwhile, sodium alginate gels induced by aforementioned are prepared, zinc‐ion hybrid capacitor assembled with prepared gel exhibits superior specific capacity (219 mAh g −1 ), density (176.2 Wh kg broad range applicability (−40–75 °C). This study proposes universal method controlling capacitance properties CTP‐based It holds promise broadening scope preparation other materials.
