This review comprehensively examines the utilization of carbon-based nanomaterials, specifically graphene oxide (GO) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), in advanced wastewater treatment applications. GO CNTs demonstrate exceptional efficacy adsorbing a broad spectrum organic compounds hazardous microorganisms due to their unique physicochemical properties, such as large specific surface areas, high aspect ratios, versatile chemical modifications enabled by functional groups. is characterised abundant oxygen-containing groups, including hydroxyl, carboxyl, epoxy, which enhance its hydrophilicity adsorption potential for cationic pollutants. Meanwhile, CNTs, available single-walled (SWCNTs) multi-walled (MWCNTs), are noted tubular structure, tensile strength, significant electrical conductivity, making them highly effective molecules heavy metals. Electrospun nanosorbent fibers specifically designed for efficient lithium extraction were developed, exhibiting superior physicochemical properties. These fabricated using a polyacrylonitrile/dimethylformamide matrix, with viscosity and dynamic mechanical analysis showing that optimal interactions achieved at lower contents of layered double hydroxide. This meticulous adjustment in formulation led to the creation porous (Li-PNFs-1). Li-PNFs-1 exhibited outstanding attributes, including yield stress 0.09 MPa, tensile strength 2.48 an elongation break 19.7%. Adsorption capacity is a critical indicator of adsorbent performance, its assessment often requires precise but complicated measurements adsorbate concentration in the liquid phase. This study presents colorimetric sensing method based on fabricated model for directly assessing adsorption colored cations through absorbance adsorbent.
