Abstract
This
study
involved
the
synthesis
of
a
novel
composite
gel
consisting
chitosan
modified
diatomite
(DE/CS),
sodium
alginate
(SA),
and
polyethyleneimine
(PEI)
(DE/CS-PEI@SA)
using
ion
crosslinking
method.
The
micro
characteristics
gels
were
examined
through
scanning
electron
microscopy,
X-ray
diffraction,
differential
calorimetry/thermal
gravimetric
analysis,
Brunauer-Emmett-Teller
systems.
Their
adsorption
properties
mechanisms
towards
copper
Cu(II)
lead
Pb(II)
ions
investigated
infrared,
photoelectron
spectroscopy,
energy
dispersive
Zeta
potential
analyses.
DE/CS-PEI@SA
exhibit
numerous
uniform
folds
on
its
surface,
boasting
specific
surface
area
18.96
m2/g
pore
size
ranging
from
1.5
to
80.0
nm,
demonstrating
robust
thermal
stability

post-
adsorption.
Notably,
these
demonstrate
impressive
capacities
for
(174.39
mg/g)
