The development of ultrafiltration (UF) polymeric membranes with high flux and enhanced antifouling properties bridges a critical gap in the membrane fabrication research field. In present work, preparation novel PES incorporated carrageenan (CAR), which is natural polymer derived from edible red seaweed, reported for first time. PES/CAR were prepared by using nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method at 0.1–4.0 wt.% CAR loadings casting solutions. use dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), bio-based low-toxic solvent, reported. Scanning electron microscopy, atomic force water contact angle, porosity, zeta potential measurements used to evaluate surface morphology, structure, pore size, hydrophilicity, charge membranes. filtration performance was tested bovine serum albumin (BSA) It shown that incorporation solutions notably increased charge, fouling resistance compared plain due hydrophilic nature pore-forming CAR. showed significant reduction irreversible total during BSA 38% 32%, respectively, an enhancement recovery ratio 20–40%, improvement mechanical 1.5-fold when findings study indicate can be as promising additive UF treatment applications.
